Find out which affiliate programs you should join as a new blogger to start making money online!
This post may contain affiliate links to products and services I’ve tried & tested. I may receive a small commission at no extra cost to you when you use these services.
There are many reasons why people start blogging, but one huge reason that keeps us blogging and creating new content is that we’re hoping to make a little bit of money from our efforts.
Now that I’ve been blogging for a little while, I can confirm that blogging isn’t all sunshine and rainbows. There is a lot of hard work that goes into writing blog posts and driving traffic to those blog posts.
Even though it does take some hard work and dedication, blogging definitely is a hell of a lot of fun as well.
I’ve learned so much about a variety of areas that I never would have known about if I didn’t take the plunge to create my blog. And I think it’s just the coolest thing that so many new doors and opportunities have opened up simply because I put myself out there and stepped outside of my comfort zone.
If you’ve been thinking about starting a blog and are ready to take the plunge, you can read my step-by-step guide detailing how to start your own blog easily here!
And once you have your blog created, this list of affiliate programs will help you get started earning money from the beginning so that you don’t waste any opportunities.
Not all affiliate programs out there accept every application that they receive. Some of them have a list of requirements, and blog traffic could be one of them.
The good news, however, is that I’ve put together a list of affiliate programs that will accept you as a new blogger so you can start earning money from your blog right from the beginning!
Affiliate programs for new bloggers
Amazon
Amazon is the perfect affiliate program for new bloggers to start out with because it’s relevant to just about every niche, and the possibilities will only expand the further you go in your blogging journey.
Amazon offers you a percentage of each sale that you refer to them, and it doesn’t cost your readers anything. You can recommend products that you use and find helpful, and Amazon will reward you for your referral. Win-win!
One thing to note is that you need to make at least 3 sales from your referrals within your first 180 days of joining the Amazon affiliate program or your account won’t be approved.
The good news is that you can reapply after, but it’s easier to try to get approved the first time. I recommend writing a few blog posts centered around products found on Amazon to help ensure you make a few referrals. List posts would work perfectly here!
To give you an idea of how I went about writing one of these posts, I wrote this post detailing every supply you need to start your online reselling business. Every product in that post is something that I truly recommend and use to run my own online businesses, so it was easy to put together the list because it’s everything I know and love!
Other Amazon services that are great to use & promote are:
- Amazon Prime 30-day free trial
- Kindle Unlimited (get your first month free!)
- Audible (get a 30-day free trial!)
- Amazon Music Unlimited (get a 30-day free trial)
- Amazon Family (get a 30-day free trial)
- Amazon Home Services
- Amazon Kids+ (get a 30-day free trial)
Bluehost
When you start your own blog with Bluehost, you become an affiliate for them as well! They have an amazing affiliate program, and you can earn $65 for every person that signs up for a blog using your link (with potential to earn even more. They’ll email you with the details when you join)!
This isn’t my first blog, and I’ve used Bluehost for every single blog that I’ve ever created – so I knew firsthand just how inexpensive, simple, and user-friendly it was to start a blog with Bluehost.
So when it came time for me to start this blog, I didn’t hesitate and jumped right in with Bluehost again. I’m still a happy customer!

Rakuten
Rakuten (formerly Ebates) isn’t exclusively for bloggers, but it is highly recommended by many people and for good reason!
Rakuten earns us cashback on a ton of online purchases that we make, and they also offer a killer referral program of $25 when you refer someone and they make their first purchase.
When you sign up for a new account, Rakuten will give you $5 free! The person you referred wins, and you win!
Sign up for your free Rakuten account here and you’ll instantly become an affiliate and get $5!
ShareASale
ShareASale is an affiliate network that runs a ton of affiliate programs for different companies and offers them to you all in one place.
You sign up for ShareASale, and then you have access to all of these companies! Once you join, all you do is search through and browse companies that you use/like/enjoy, and apply for their affiliate program.
I’ve been approved for every company that I’ve applied for, including:
Everything is super easy to use on their website, and they create the affiliate links and banners and everything else you could want for each of these companies directly within their website.
Sign up for ShareASale and start earning here!
Awin
Awin is another affiliate network similar to ShareASale. You can join here, and then browse companies that you want to join.
I’ve joined a few programs including:

CJ Affiliate
CJ Affiliate, formerly known as Commission Junction, is similar to ShareASale and Awin that are mentioned above.
A favourite company of mine from CJ is MyPoints – to earn money while shopping online!
Getting started with affiliate marketing is a new and exciting way to make money.
These affiliate programs are all perfect for any beginner and will help you make money sooner so that you can start being rewarded for your blogging efforts sooner!
By joining all three affiliate networks and the others listed above, you’re broadening the affiliate programs you can join and will be able to maximize your earnings!
