Hey I’m Krista, and welcome to Killer Finance!

I’ve spent the last 10 years pursuing entrepreneurship and chasing my dreams of becoming self employed so I could live the life I wanted while being my own boss.

After some trial and error, I found huge success with selling products online and was able to quit my full-time office job to work for myself from home! You can read about how I got my start here:

I’m Canadian and live in Ontario with my boyfriend and our cat & dog, and I’m grateful everyday to be able to work from home. I’ve been interested in finance since my early twenties, but my curiosity started a few years before that.

When I was a teenager, I always noticed my family members dreading their Monday to Friday jobs and working hard all week to only truly live happily on the weekends. I knew that I was young and didn’t know everything about the world, but couldn’t believe that so many people lived through that fate and didn’t try to change their situation. I vowed to myself that that wouldn’t be me. I started my first small business at age 21, and would go on to start several more.

Failed and semi-successful businesses never discouraged me because I always left the experience with more knowledge and useful skills than when I started them. I re-entered the work force a couple of times, only to be reminded every single time exactly why working for someone else just isn’t for me. There are definite benefits that I enjoyed – the camaraderie with my fellow coworkers, the structure of a daily routine – but I still felt miserable. I strongly felt like my purpose in life wasn’t to help make another company richer while I worked away for my hourly wage.

So, this is my quest to create the life that I’ve envisioned for myself since I was that teenage girl dreaming of something bigger. My goal is to spread my knowledge to help others in the same position as me, so that we can all escape our debts, unhappy jobs and circumstances, and live a life on the path of financial freedom!
